Buyer decision guide

How to compare cheer uniform quotes

Quotes for teamwear are rarely like-for-like. This guide gives coaches, gym owners and booster boards a consistent way to read offers, so the decision is made on scope and service rather than on a single number.

Start the conversation

Read the scope first

Compare what is included, not just the total.

Two suppliers can quote the same garment and mean very different things. Before comparing figures, write down what each quote actually covers, what it excludes, and what the program will have to buy separately later in the season.

What is included

List the exact pieces in each quote — tops, bottoms, layers, coach and staff items — and note anything described as optional or quoted separately.

Personalization

Names, numbers and individual detailing can be inside or outside a quote. Confirm which, and confirm how late changes to spelling or roster are handled.

Artwork and setup

Ask whether design, artwork preparation and any setup work is included, what file formats are needed, and what happens if the program revises the design.

Shipping and delivery

Check whether shipping is quoted, where it delivers, whether it is one shipment or several, and who sorts and distributes the order on arrival.

Replacement and reorder support

Programs almost always need something after the main order. Ask how replacements, late athletes and add-on pieces are handled, and on what terms.

Sizing process

A quote depends on the sizing process behind it. Ask how sizing is collected, whether samples are available, and how mis-sizes are resolved.

Communication

Note who your point of contact is, how changes are confirmed, and how approvals are recorded. This is the difference most programs feel during the season.

Timing assumptions

Every quote carries assumptions about when artwork, roster and payment are final. Write those assumptions down — they, not the headline date, decide whether an order arrives on time.

Accessories

Bags, warmups and travel pieces are often quoted separately. Decide whether you are comparing the uniform alone or the full season kit.

A fair comparison

Four steps to an honest side-by-side.

  1. 01

    Fix the brief

Define one set of products, quantities and personalization for every supplier.

  2. 02

    Request like-for-like

Ask each supplier to quote that same brief, listing exclusions.

  3. 03

    Normalise

Add the excluded items back in so you compare a delivered season, not a line item.

  4. 04

    Judge service

Weigh sizing process, communication and reorder support alongside the numbers.

Made4Motion publishes no price list on this page and makes no claim about other suppliers. Pricing depends on the products, design, quantities and order details agreed with your program.

Coach checklist

Questions to ask every supplier.

  • Exactly which pieces are in this quote?
  • Is personalization included, and how are late changes handled?
  • Is artwork and setup work included?
  • Is shipping included, and how many shipments?
  • How are replacements and late athletes handled?
  • How is sizing collected, and what happens with mis-sizes?
  • Who is our point of contact, and how are changes confirmed?
  • What has to be final, and by when, for this quote to hold?

Coach questions

Clear answers before the request.

Why do two quotes for the same uniform look so different?
Usually because they include different things. Personalization, artwork setup, shipping, sample or replacement handling and accessories may be inside one quote and outside another. Comparing the totals alone hides that.
Should a program simply choose the lowest number?
Not without checking scope. The useful comparison is total cost for the same delivered outcome, including the pieces a program will inevitably need later.
Does this page rank suppliers?
No. It gives you the questions to ask. Made4Motion does not rank competitors or claim to be objectively best — programs should judge offers on their own terms.
