Funding & sponsorship
Before asking any business for support, a program should know what it can legitimately offer in return. This guide helps coaches list those assets and check them against the rules that apply.
Start the conversationInventory before packages
Sponsor packages built on assets a program cannot actually deliver damage trust. Start by listing every recognition opportunity you control, then confirm which are allowed under your school, league or organization rules.

Recognition posts, where your program's policies allow them.
Mentions at home events, showcases or banquets.
Banners or boards at venues you control and where signage is permitted.
PA or MC recognition during events, if the venue allows it.
Space for a supporter at a program-run event.
Recognition at a clinic or camp your program runs.
Volunteer days or appearances that connect the team with a supporter's community.
Only where rules permit. Many schools and governing bodies restrict logos on competition uniforms — confirm before offering it.
The sequence
Write every asset your program controls.
Confirm approvals and restrictions.
State exactly what each asset delivers.
Only then group assets into offers.
Schools and programs may have rules and approval requirements for sponsorship. This guide is not legal or tax advice and makes no claim about deductibility; supporters should consult their own advisers.
